About the Programme

The Professional Diploma is intended to put a strong emphasis on the advancement of knowledge, skills, and comprehension in the fundamental areas of teaching and learning. The Professional Diploma modules, which are a continuation of the Certificate, allow teachers to improve the quality of their instruction by interacting critically with novel concepts and methods. Through inquiry, evaluation, and adaptation, they will grow in knowledge and competence, becoming reflective practitioners who are prepared for teaching in the twenty-first century.


Professional Diploma in Education affords students to;

Typically entrants will have:

  • Access to a minimum of 100 hours of professional practice in the education or teaching sector. This should be in a role that carries the full range of teaching, learning and assessment responsibilities
  • English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 (e.g. GCSE grade 4; grade C or equivalent)

  • Access to regular mentor support in your specialist area is desirable

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in your specialist area

  • The relevant professional, industrial or commercial experience will be considered if formal qualifications are not available or relevant.
