Student Member status is available to anyone studying for a qualification in education
such as a degree (BEd) or post-graduate certificate (PGCE).

To become a Student Member, you must meet the following criteria:

You are studying for an appropriate qualification at EQF level 5 or 6
You can provide evidence of your student status.
You must submit the following supporting documents:
A letter or e-mail from your college confirming your enrolment.

Associate Membership is a grade of membership open to anyone who has relevant qualifications or training in education and Training and has a minimum of three-year education and Training experience or has obtained the AIET Diploma in Education and Training and who can fulfil the eligibility criteria described below:

• Hold Relevant qualification at EQF level 6 e.g. Bachelor’s Degree (BEd), with a minimum of Three years of experience in Education and Training
• Hold an Associate Membership of other Recognized Professional Bodies

Features included with your membership:

• Use of post-nominals AAIET after your name
• Printed certificate awarding you Full Membership status in recognition of your contribution to the Education and Training profession
• Invitations to contribute to roundtable discussions and surveys, giving you the opportunity to influence and engage with education policy and have your voice heard by those making decisions at a system level
• Ability to stand and vote in our annual elections and contribute to shaping the future of the profession.

Full Member (MAIET)

Full Membership is a grade of membership open to more advanced Educators who;

Hold Relevant qualifications at EQF level 7 e.g. Masters’s Degree (MEd), PGCE Certificate with a minimum of Five year’s experience in Education and Training or anyone with a relevant qualification at EQF level 6 e.g Degree (BEd) with a minimum of Seven years experience in Education and Training or Hold a Membership in other Recognized Professional Bodies

• Use of post-nominals MAIET after your name
• Printed certificate awarding you Full Membership status in recognition of your contribution to the Education and Training profession
• Invitations to contribute to roundtable discussions and surveys, giving you the opportunity to influence and engage with education policy and have your voice heard by those making decisions at a system level
• Ability to stand and vote in our annual elections and contribute to shaping the future of the profession.

Fellowship (FAIET) was established to recognise the commitment and achievements of Educators, teachers and school leaders. This is an accolade held by some of the most committed teachers and leaders who have shown a significant and sustained contribution to the Education and Training profession. It is a formal mark of their achievements, skills and expertise as Education and Training professionals.

Fellowship is an opportunity to support career development and strengthen the Education and Training profession through the recognition of your expertise.

• Printed certificate awarding you Fellowship status in recognition of your contribution to the Education and Training profession

Requirements

• Relevant qualification at EQF level 8 e.g. PhD (Education)

• Minimum of 15 years experience in Education and Training.

• Made a significant contribution to the Education and Training profession and are able
  to demonstrate throughout your Education and Training career you:

1. critically evaluate and reflect on your own practice
2. commit to engaging in relevant, career-long professional learning
3. express collegiality by supporting, and learning from others
4. adhere to high standards of professionalism
5. engage critically with research and evidence
